The Dept of Mass Media offers the following courses: Undergraduate course: BMM - Bachelor of Mass Media started in the year 2000 and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.


The course is conducted at KC College, Colaba Campus.

  • A three-year integrated degree course
  • Offers specialization in Advertising or Journalism in its final year.
  • Trains the students to face the challenges of the media.
  • An intensive course with seminars, workshops, guest lectures and field trips integrated in the curriculum.
  • The college has a compulsory four week summer internship for the students of SYBMM post their semester IV examinations.
  • The India Today Magazine has ranked the Department of Mass Media among the Top ten colleges for Mass Communication In India for three consecutive years.

Eligibility Criteria for BMM: Post XII standard from any course- SSC, ICSE, CBSE, IGCSE, IB. As per Mumbai University Norms students admitted purely on Merit.

As a part of the best practices, the department conducts a compulsory four-week summer internship programme for which external guests are invited to interview the students and grade them.

A series of guest lectures and workshops named C3 or Cube Series were organized

The Department, (B.M.M., M.A.C.J., M.A.E.M.A.) went on its Annual Industrial Visit to Amritsar & Dharamsala to visit Jalianwala Bagh, the Golden Temple, Wagah Border and places of cultural interest in Dharamsala.

Ms. Manjula Srinivas is a chair Person for Examination Committee for F.Y. & S.Y. Examinations and a Subject expert in several colleges for selection of faculty for B.M.M.

Ms Lachmi Deb Roy is a Co-Convenor for the two day International Conference- ‘Digital Democracy”, Assistant Editor for Media Research and Communication Studies

KCBMM stood First at “Polaris”— the annual media festival conducted by Wilson College.

The students of the department of Mass Media participated in “Cutting Chai” the Media fest of National College, Bandra.

Colloquia for the M.A.C.J. research projects were organized for the Master of Arts in Communication & Journalism course on 23rd January 2016.

The University in the curriculum for the M.A.E.M.A.-I has included a compulsory internship program which all M.A.E.M.A.-I students successfully completed.
