Activities

1. The Department of Statistics, K. C. College, has been celebrating National Statistics Day annually since 2017 through a wide range of academic, research-oriented and student-centric initiatives aimed at strengthening statistical awareness, research culture and professional competencies among students and faculty.
2. Organisation of International Conferences, National Conferences, Collaborative National Faculty Development Program and National Conclaves comprising expert lectures, student academic activities, quizzes and educational games.
3. Research Methodology Workshops, Seminars, and Training programmes for students and faculty.
4. Student-centric activities including quizzes, competitions, hands-on sessions, collaborative learning exercises and mentoring for participation & presentation in National/International Conferences, intercollegiate/ University level events.
5. Faculty contributions as Resource Persons in Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), Short Term Courses of Mumbai Universities and Capacity Building Programmes on Statistics, Research Methodology and Data Analysis including training on statistical software such as SPSS, Excel, R, Python and Jamovi.
6. Participation as Technical Chairpersons / Session Chairs in national and international conferences by Dr. Asha Jindal.
7. National-level academic engagement with NCERT, where department faculty have contributed as resource persons for Faculty Development and Capacity Building Programmes on Data Analysis using Jamovi. In this context, Dr. Asha Jindal and Dr. Muley have been prominent and consistent resource persons over the last five years, while Dr. Kadam contributed during the initial three years of the programme.
8. Faculty academic leadership and governance roles, wherein department faculty members have served as:

• Expert Members on Boards of Studies (BoS) of universities and autonomous colleges.
• Subject Experts and Panel Members for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) promotions and appointments.
• Dr. Asha Jindal is Member Editorial Board of Peer Reviewed Indian Journal titled “International Journal of Research” of Rizvi College and “International Entire Research Journal”.
